Let me also use this medium to quickly say who we are. SchulPortals Technologies are web portal provider for secondary schools and tertiary institutions. With the high rise in the use of internet for scam and 419 activities that are prevalent among the youths today, we like to use it as an instrument for learning and quick Research tool for your children.

The solution we provide is to involve you, the parents in the day to day classroom experience making you literaly to attend classes with your wards. We will be sending periodic texts alerts messages on your ward's weekly performance to your GSM phones - Attendance and tests records updates.

You must have received a couple of texts on this service already. Your ward will be given a scratch card which will give you access to the College web Portal for you to access the academic performance since the beginning of the session.

This newsletter is geared to informed parents about the new trends in the IT world and how to use and harness it to develop their wards, preparing them for this dynamic information age. Compared to what obtained in the 70s down to the 90s, you agree that we are now in the information age. SSCE, WAEC, NECO and JAMB are all processed online now; even recruitment and job interviews are conducted mostly online now.

Your ward will be promoted to the Senior Secondary this September. This is the level at which he will determine his career choice and profession for life. We are putting a career development questionnaire on the website for YOU TO FILL WITH HIM. This exercise is necessary for you to know the personality of your boy and know the career cluster and profession he is cut out for.

You will agree that your boy needs more than the classroom curriculum in order to be relevant in this age. The career objective is to make your boy a knowledge worker in his chosen career, which is a potential employer of labor in his profession rather than a job seeker. In light of this, we are also putting a career development module on the college website-www.collegelagos.org

We urge you to fill the questionnaire with your ward. Now, the world is changing and even the biggest corporations are downsizing (crudely put, there are increasing lay offs and retrenchment). Prepare your ward not to be a victim of this labor crisis now by exploiting his personality and potential to the profession and career that is best suited for his person.

It is better we prepare our ward for the world out there by inculcating the mentality of an employer of labor rather than a white collar job mentality. Imagine if it was your boy who initiated and started the pure water business? Imagine your boy discovers an alternative to fuel? Or creates an alternative to generator? The school prepares him to just to pass SSCE, for this 21st century he needs more than just the certificate.
