N.B: School Portal: The increase in P.T.A due's by N2,000 was as a result of billing of School Portal now reflected in the P.T.A bill. This was optional but parents agreed during the open day justifying significance of such services and that explain why we included school Portal in P.T.A bill.
Please, contact the Financial Secretary/Treasurer if there is need to reconcile your account(s). Thank you and God bless.

LONGE T.A.B.
Financial Secretary

Message from the Chairman, King's College Parent- Teacher Association, Lagos. DR.O.A.REJU for the 2ND term ending 3RD APRIL 2008.

Congratulations for coming to the end of the second term 2007/2008academic session. We give God the glory for seeing us through and pray we have more of such in the coming years.

1. Second Term PTA General Meeting.
The attendance at our last General Meeting held on 24-02-2008was extremely poor; hence issues which would have been discussed and finalized were stepped down. Such include:
(a) Provision of an Electricity Generating set for the Main Campus.
(b) Provision of a befitting College Bus.
The situation is very precarious at the Main Campus as our children cannot comfortably read at night especially those at the terminal class (JSS3).
Similarly, the students cannot go on trips in and out of the college in any decent college vehicle. This is not giving the college a befitting image.
The Executive of the Association is hereby sensitizing your interest as we may by your very gracious authority request for minimal BUS/GENERATOR levies as soon as possible. Ours will not be different from other sister institutions under the same establishment.

2. PTA PROJECTS:
Continuous maintenance of infrastructures is a recurring situation, failure which would make the college premises very unsanitary.
We shall embark on the rehabilitation of the overhead water tank at the Main Campus during the holidays such that the water therein will be clean at all times.
A new 3.5KVA gen. set was purchased for the PTA office such that our jobs will not suffer any delays

3. PTA DUES.
It is regrettable that about a third (33%) out of a nominal roll of 1231 students had not paid any PTA dues for the current term. There are others who paid nothing for upwards of two (2) complete academic sessions. Surprisingly, many of such students are in their terminal classes with just a few months to complete their course in the college. Parents/Guardians are strongly advised to ask their children/wards for their latest PTA bills such that any discrepancies can be rectified before resumption for next term.
The finance sub-committee of the PTA Executive has decided to impose some penalty for defaulters when clearance is required.

4. SchulPortals Technology:
The very few parents who attended the last General Meeting rejected the idea of SchulPortals with a proviso that the organization should do more sensitization. I am harpy to report that during the OPEN DAY sessions of some of the classes, most of the parents have now agreed to subscribe to this worthwhile venture.
I am delighted to report that in view of the acceptance of this proposal, a fee of Two Thousand Naira (N2, 000:.00) has been included in the PTA bills for 3rd Term.
There are many parents who do not reside in Lagos and there are numerous others who for only reason or the other cannot be present at the college during the OPEN DAYS, hence the resort to SchulPortals Technology in assessing our children's school records.
We should also remember that school admissions, examination results e. t. c. arc now conducted via the San1e system. This is an aspect of human development which we cannot run away from. Please let us be I.T compliant.

5. NAPAFUSS:
We have continued to be active participants at NAPAFUSS both at Zonal and National levels. Our indebtedness is being offset gradually. Information reaching us indicates that Entrance examination shall be conducted into JSS 1 in Federal Unity Schools before long.

6. CONCLUSION.
I wish our children a pleasurable holidays. Please prepare them for next term taking into consideration the criteria for promotion into the next class in the college.
Thank you all and God bless.

APRIL 2008.
